¿¬±¸°á°ú : Èí¿¬´Ü¼ÓÀ» ½Ç½ÃÇϱâ Àü ±Ý¿¬±¸¿ª°ú Èí¿¬±¸¿ªÀÇ ³óµµ´Â À¯ÀÇÇÏ°Ô ´Ù¸£Áö ¾Ê¾Ò´Ù. Èí¿¬´Ü¼ÓÀÌ ½Ç½ÃµÈ ÈÄ ±Ý¿¬±¸¿ªÀÇ ³óµµ´Â ´Ü¼Ó ÀÌÀüÀÇ ³óµµº¸´Ù À¯ÀÇÇÏ°Ô ³·¾Ò°í Èí¿¬±¸¿ªÀÇ ³óµµº¸´Ù À¯ÀÇÇÏ°Ô ³·¾Ò´Ù. °á·Ð : ÀηÂÀ» µ¿¿øÇÑ ±Ý¿¬±¸¿ªÀÇ Èí¿¬ÀÚ ´Ü¼Ó ½Ã ±Ý¿¬±¸¿ªÀÇ PM2.5 ³óµµ´Â À¯ÀÇÇÏ°Ô °¨¼ÒÇÏ¿´À¸¸ç, ±Ý¿¬±¸¿ªÀÇ Èí¿¬ÀÚ ¼ö¸¦ ÁÙÀ̴µ¥ ¸Å¿ì È¿°úÀûÀÌ´Ù. ÇÏÁö¸¸ ´Ü¼Ó ½Ã Èí¿¬±¸¿ªÀ¸·Î ¸ðµç Èí¿¬ÀÚ°¡ ÁýÁߵǸ鼭 Æò¼Òº¸´Ù Èí¿¬±¸¿ªÀÇ PM2.5 ³óµµ°¡ Áõ°¡ÇÏ´Â °ÍÀ¸·Î °üÂûµÇ¾ú´Ù. ¿¬±¸°á°ú, ½Ç¿Ü °ø°øÀå¼Ò¿¡¼­ÀÇ Àü¸é±Ý¿¬ÀÌ¾ß ¸»·Î °£Á¢Èí¿¬ÀÇ ³ëÃâÀ» ÁÙÀÏ ¼ö ÀÖ´Â °¡Àå ÀÌ»óÀûÀÎ ¹æ¹ýÀ¸·Î »ç·áµÈ´Ù.
Objectives : Outdoor smoke-free regulation has been implemented in various locations in Seoul, Korea. Unlike indoor environment, outdoor smoke-free regulation may have less compliance due to relatively fast dispersion of outdoor tobacco smoke (OTS). The purpose of this study was to determine impact of enforcement on outdoor smoke-free regulation by measuring OTS exposure.

Methods : Monitoring at non-smoking area and designated smoking areas occurred with and without enforcement. Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) from OTS was measured using a portable aerosol monitor.

Results : Before enforcement, the average PM2.5 levels in designated smoking area and no-smoking area were not significantly different. With enforcement, the average PM2.5 levels in no-smoking area were significantly lower than in designated smoking area. Number of smoker in no-smoking area was also significantly decreased with enforcement. More smokers were present outdoor smoking area in evening. Relationship between number of smoker and PM2.5 level demonstrated that outdoor PM2.5 level was associated with OTS.

Conclusion : The findings confirmed the need of enforcement to enhance compliance in no-smoking outdoor areas. The strict enforcement may be necessary in evening when more smokers came out for smoking.
